2022 Compass Expansion

 

About

In 2021, Compass expanded to over one hundred markets. The expansion included places such as Hawaii, North Carolina, and more. As we moved into 2022 with expansion still on the horizon, our goal was to figure out how to scale and support the growth from all sides.

CHALLENGES

In 2021, we faced a lot of challenges as we restructured the internal design team. The expansion initiative was one of our first big brand projects as a new org. The team had to learn how to adapt to moving deadlines, work with multiple departments, and support hypergrowth on the customer side.

We took those lessons from 2021 and created a system that helps support market launches. The system includes solves for brand campaigns to founding customer announcements. We created a diverse copy system that can be interchangeable throughout the design system. The new system has launched markets in under half the time we did in 2021 with less margin for error.
